"Mr. Brown can Moo! Can You?" is a childrens book by Dr. Suess. It is published by Random House/New York. "Dr. Brown can Moo! Can You?" is a book that shows you the things that "Mr. Brown" can do, which applies to everyone's daily lives, and things they see and do. Then, the book goes on to describe the sounds that come from the actions, things, animals, etc. I like the book because of how it is educational, but fun for kids. When the book says "how about you?", kids want to try whatever it says. The sound words are interesting to me as well, and amusing in a way. Young, Elementary kids are learning how to pronounce words. They cannot read long, difficult books. This book has easy words, and it is short. It also has "sound words" that are appealing to kids. I would recommend this book to any child, and to any teacher to read to their class.
"Danny and the Dinosaur" is a book by Syd Hoff. It is published by Harper and Row Publishers Ny, Evanston and London. In the story, Danny (a little boy), goes to a museum and befriends a dinosaur. The dinosaur takes Danny around the town and they have a great day together. More and more kids come to "play" with the dinosaur. At the end of the story, the dinosaur ends up having to go back to the museum. I thought the story was very good. Dinosaurs are looked at as scary and kids, after reading this, would find them as friendly creatures and might want to learn more about what dinosaurs were. This book is appropriate for elementary school; maybe second grade. Kids love cartoon characters,so the dinosaur character would appeal to younger ages. This book has pictures that go along with the story as well, so kids can follow along well. I strongly recommend this book.
